MINOAN LINES WILL BE THE FIRST COMPANY IN THE GREEK COASTAL PASSENGER SHIPPING SECTOR WHOSE CRUISE FERRIES, DURING THE FIRST SEMESTER OF 2019, WILL HAVE BEEN FULLY HARMONIZED WITH THE NEW REQUIREMENTS LEADING TO REDUCED EMISSIONS FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE ENVIRONMENT AND COUNTRY

 

Minoan Lines would like to inform their passengers that due to the company's compliance with the new IMO Fuel Regulation that comes into force on 01/01/2020, and the timely preparation for the installation of scrubber systems (SCRUBBERS - pollution control devices that are used to remove some particulates and/or gases from exhaust streams), will proceed to an extraordinary alteration of their itineraries from Saturday 03/11/2018 until Thursday 20/12/2018, with daily arrivals and departures from the ports of Piraeus, Chania and Heraklion, according to the following schedule:

From Friday 21/12/2018, the cruise ferries KNOSSOS PALACE, FESTOS PALACE and MYKONOS PALACE will return to their scheduled itineraries.

Minoan Lines, with particular seriousness, sensitivity and conscience towards the protection of our fragile natural environment, adopt innovative practices for the reduction of the environmental footprint of their fleet and proceed to the immediate preparation for their conversion into more environmentally friendly vessels. In this way, they demonstrate in practice their environmental sensitivity and conscience by ensuring the timely installation of scrubber systems on the company's vessels and their full compliance with the new IMO fuel regulation.

 

For the period from 03/11/2018 to 20/12/2018, both the number of approaches in each port and the provided capacity of available vessels will be kept stable so that the three ports (Heraklion, Chania and Piraeus) will be served by state-of-the-art, luxury and fast cruise ferries of similar technical features, for the provision of high quality and best services to the passengers.
