Terms & Conditions

1. General Terms

1.1 The “Minoan Lines Bonus Club” Program is a program aiming to reward regular customers, launched by “Minoan Lines S.A.”. The program administrator and beneficiary is the above mentioned shipping company (onwards referred to as “Minoan Lines”), which sits in Heraklion, Crete, (17, 25th Avgoustou street)


1.2 The hereby stated Conditions and Regulations define the relations between Minoan Lines and those participating in the “Minoan Lines Bonus Club” program, as well as the participation procedure, the collection and redemption of points. Minoan Lines retain the right to alter these Terms. You are kindly requested, every time you look for information as to the services of the program, to make sure you are referring to conditions and regulations in force, found in www.minoan.gr


1.3 Minoan Lines inform customers on all data concerning the procedure of the program (points, offers, categories of gifts, prices) as well as on the prerequisites for collection and redemption of points with services that are offered, through www.minoan.gr and printed material. Each point is a unit of measure of the program and the terms ruling the procedure of collection and redemption of points are set exclusively by Minoan Lines.


2. Participation in Minoan Lines Bonus Club


2.1 Anyone aged 18 or over is entitled to join the "Minoan Lines Bonus Club". Employees of Minoan Lines are excluded from joining.

2.2 In order to participate in the Program it is necessary to register, by completing the application form found in the Minoan Lines web page.

2.3 Registration through the Internet: a person can only register electronically, through www.minoan.gr where the electronic form is completed and sent by email. The applicant receives an automatic email, which includes his/her personal card with the eight-figure number, and he/she is asked to download the digital card.

2.4 Members can use their digital card immediately and collect points by buying a ticket. The digital card can be used for point collection on board, in places where points can be collected and other privileges offered by the program.

2.5 Members can fully use their privileges, which result from participating to the program, when they download their digital card.

2.6 Having completed the online form, the applicant accepts the Program Rules and Regulations, as they are defined by Minoan Lines.

2.7 Participation is personal and each member can only have one account in this program. This account cannot be transferred or assigned to others. In case there are two or more accounts, the extra ones will be invalidated and the older one will remain valid. The points that may exist in the invalidated accounts will be transferred to the valid one.

2.8 The eight-figure number (customer code) is unique for every member and it is a proof of participation to the program. By using this card, a member is able to collect and redeem points.

2.9. The digital card can be downloaded by the members as soon as their application is accepted. Every card is personal and remains a property of Minoan Lines.

2.10. Minoan Lines retain the right to invalidate a member’s participation in the program, in case any of the Rules and Regulations is breached. Any request for cashing an offer made before or after the invalidation of a card, will be put under consideration.


3. Cards

3.1 In the “Minoan Lines Bonus Club” program, there are two categories of participation: the regular and the golden, depending on the points that have been collected. In each category of participation, the program issues a different card: Minoan Lines Bonus Club Card and Minoan Lines Bonus Club - Gold Card. Depending on the category of participation, the conditions for someone to acquire one, as well as the privileges offered, are different.


3.1.1 Minoan Lines Bonus Club Card

3.1.1.1 Having completed the on-line participation application form, the applicant is provided with the digital Minoan Lines Bonus Club card, with an eight figure number. Members can start collecting points, right after they acquire this digital card, when they buy a ticket. With this card, a member can start collecting points on board and be entitled to all privileges.

3.1.1.2 Once the application of a member is accepted, the digital “Minoan Lines Bonus Club” personal digital card can be downloaded. Having the Minoan Lines Bonus Club card, a member is entitled to all the privileges offered by the program and is able to collect points both by buying tickets and purchasing various goods on board. They are also entitled to discounts in stores, restaurants and bars, on board.

If in three (3) years a member has not collected any points at all, then the Minoan Lines Bonus Club card will be deactivated and his/her participation to the program will end automatically.

3.1.1.3 Owners of the Minoan Lines Bonus Club digital card will have the following privileges, regarding services offered by the Minoan Lines and purchases on board:

A 10% discount at the self-service and a la carte restaurants, the disco and all bars on board.

A 10% discount at the stores on board.*


Participation in the club’s various promotions and offers.


* The point collection program does not apply to the products offered at the self-service restaurants and bars. The discount and collection of points do not apply to the ship kiosks, as well as the ship stores and bars for some of their goods (food, beverages, cigarettes etc).


3.1.1.4 Minoan Lines reserves the right to limit the member discounts offered to certain goods or products sold at the vessel’s bars and stores. Members should be informed by asking the stores or bars personnel.


3.1.1.5 During special offers or sales season at onboard stores, the Minoan Lines Bonus Club member receives only one discount, always the highest (i.e. if an item at the store is sold at 30% discount, then a Minoan Lines Bonus Club member who is entitled otherwise to 10% discount, will receive the 30% discount). Special offer discounts and member discounts are not cumulative.



3.1.2 Minoan Lines Bonus Club - Gold Card


3.1.2.1. A member who has collected at least 3.000 points in any 24 months, obtains Golden Status and receives the Minoan Lines Bonus Club - Gold card.

3.1.2.2 A member who has collected at least 7.500 points starting from the date of his/her enrollment to the program, obtains Golden Status and can download the Minoan Lines Bonus Club - Gold card.

3.1.2.3 Owners of the Minoan Lines Bonus Club - Gold card will be entitled to the following privileges regarding the Minoan Lines services and purchases on board:

A 20% discount at the self-service and a la carte restaurants, the disco and all bars on board.

A 15% discount at the stores on board.*


Participation in the club’s various promotions and offers.


Use of the VIP lounge on board the ships Knossos Palace and Festos Palace (Piraeus-Heraklion-Piraeus route) for passengers travelling with cabin ticket.


* The point collection program does not apply to the products offered at the self-service restaurants and bars. The discount and collection of points do not apply to the ship kiosks, as well as the ship stores and bars for some of their goods (food, beverages, cigarettes etc)

3.1.2.4 Minoan Lines reserves the right to limit the member discounts offered to certain goods or products sold at the vessel’s bars and stores. Members should be informed by asking the stores or bars personnel.

3.1.2.5 During special offers or sales season at onboard stores, the Minoan Lines Bonus Club member receives only one discount, always the highest (i.e. if an item at the store is sold at 30% discount, then a Minoan Lines Bonus Club - Gold card holder who is entitled otherwise to 15% discount, will receive the 30% discount). Special offer discounts and member discounts are not cumulative.

3.1.3 All cards are personal (they bear the owner / beneficiary’s name and surname and are non transferable. This card is not a credit card.

3.1.4 Minoan Lines can at any moment modify the requirements for the acquisition of every card as well as the privileges members are entitled to, at all levels, without any prior warning.

3.1.5 In case of theft, damage or loss of the card, a member will have to make a written statement either by completing the special form found at the Minoan Lines Central Agencies and on board the ships or by sending an e-mail (for the Minoan Lines Bonus Club Program) at bonusclub@minoan.gr, so that further instructions are given. ( only for the members that have already received a plastic card )

3.1.6 The card will be replaced by a new digital one and the member will be able to download it. In case of theft or loss, the new card will also bear a new card number, as the number of the old one will be invalidated for safety reasons. In case of damage, members can ask to keep their old number in the new digital card, too.


4. Collecting points


A rule of point collecting: Each Euro spent by the members for the purchase of tickets, products and other services mentioned in the present rules as sources of point collecting, is equal to one point.

Point collecting sources: a member can collect points when buying a ticket or when purchasing various goods on board.

The points collected in the member's account will be valid for three years and they will expire if they are not redeemed within that period.

4.1 Members can start collecting points from the moment they will have completed the online program application form and downloaded the digital card with the unique card number. With this card a member collects points by buying a ticket and by purchasing goods on board.

4.2 The owners of the digital Minoan Lines Bonus Club card as well as of the Minoan Lines Bonus Club - Gold card, have the opportunity to collect points by buying tickets (passengers, vehicles), and by purchasing goods on board.


4.3 Collecting points by purchasing tickets:

4.3.1 In order that points are credited to a member’s account, a trip has to be made by the members themselves. In order to collect points from tickets, it is necessary that tickets are used first.

4.3.2 Members can collect points when buying a ticket for them and their vehicle (not valid for vehicles traveling with bill of lading). Collecting points is not possible when goods are transported.

4.3.3 All members will have to state their card number, when booking and buying their ticket (passengers and vehicles). Otherwise, no points are credited.

4.3.4 By stating/showing the member card number when buying a ticket, the number of the card will be printed on the passenger and vehicle ticket, bearing the initials MCC, as well as the eight-figure number.


4.3.5 Passengers:


4.3.5.1 Points can be collected when buying a ticket for all passenger classes, available by Minoan Lines for all destinations.

4.3.5.2 Members cannot collect points from tickets of other adult passengers.

4.3.5.3 Members will be able to collect points by buying tickets for their children, which are under the age of 18, provided they have completed this information in the application form.

4.3.5.4 Points are also collected when upgrading the passenger’s class, in a ticket that has already been issued. The member’s account will be credited with the points corresponding to the difference paid by the passenger when upgrading the ticket.

4.3.5.5 No points will be given when a member travels as a group member and his/her ticket is part of a group booking.



4.3.6 Vehicles-Motorbikes

4.3.6.1 A member can collect points when buying a ticket for all categories of vehicles that are not travelling with bill of lading, for every Minoan Line destination.

4.3.6.2 Buying a ticket for vehicles transported by bill of lading does not add any points to a member’s account.


4.4 Collecting points from purchases on board:


4.4.1 A member can collect points when having a meal at the A la Carte restaurants of every vessel, in all destinations. Points are credited to the account of a passenger-member when buying goods from the stores of all vessels.

4.4.2 No points can be collected from the vessels’ haberdasher stores, for any of their goods, magazines, newspapers, and cigarettes. No points can be collected in the Self Service restaurants, the bars and the discos.

4.4.3 Class upgrading in passenger tickets, made on board, while travelling, is also a source of collecting points. A member’s account will be credited with the extra points, equivalent to the difference a passenger paid to have his/her ticket upgraded.

4.4.4 Members have to show their Minoan Lines Bonus Club or Minoan Lines Bonus Club - Gold card to the cashier for every purchase, before this is completed, so that the points are credited to their account.



4.5 Other ways of collecting points


4.5.1 Other ways of collecting points as well as the relevant regulations will be announced by the Minoan Lines Bonus Club means of communication.


4.6 General Terms of collecting points

4.6.1 The points that have been collected will appear on the member’s account after the completion of the trip.

4.6.2 These points have no commercial value, and cannot be exchanged with money, under no circumstances. Points are exchanged with free tickets.

4.6.3 Points are credited to the account of a member that has made use of the company services and products. No transfer, selling or adding of points with those of another member is allowed, for a gift or an offer to be received in common with another member of the program.

4.6.4 Minoan Lines can, at any moment, modify the rules and requirements that exist for collecting points, without prior warning.

4.6.5. All members have to state their card number, and/or show it in every booking or ticket purchasing, as well as when purchasing various goods on board.

4.6.6 In order that, points collected in the A La Carte restaurants and the vessel’s stores to be credited, members have to show their card when ordering (and before the bill is issued).

4.6.7 To profit from the discounts offered, members will have to show their digital card every time they purchase goods from the vessel’s stores, restaurants and bars.

4.6.8 Points that have been collected appear in a member’s account after the journey has been made. Each member of Minoan Lines Bonus Club can be informed of the points collected through www.minoan.gr or by calling the Minoan Lines Bonus Club numbers: +30 2810- 399850 (Mon.-Fri. 9:00-17:00).

4.6.9 Members have to keep all ticket clippings, receipts from buying goods at stores and in the A la Carte Restaurants in vessels, or any other proof/document related to the procedure of points collecting, until those points appear in their account.

4.6.10 In case points are not credited, due to technical reasons, a member has to contact Minoan Lines Bonus Club at bonusclub@minoan.gr , Monday-Friday from 9:00-17:00, explain the situation and send all documents kept (ticket clippings, receipts for goods being bought on board, or any other related document) for the corresponding points to be credited.

4.6.11 Objections regarding the status of accounts (regarding collecting and cashing points) will have to be communicated to Minoan Lines within three (3) months, starting from the day a transaction has taken place. Otherwise, points will be lost.5. Cashing points


5.1 General


5.1.1 Every time the word point is mentioned, it is solely related with the Minoan Lines Bonus Club Program.


5.1.2 A member is able to cash points with free tickets which he/she can receive when having accumulated the necessary number of points, according to the following tables:

All benefits refer to a seat/berth per person one-way, except categories L1, A1, AB1, JS1 & P1, AP1 that refer to the whole cabin one-way.

5.1.3 All free tickets are offered according to availability and to the Rules and Regulations ruling the program at a specific time. Free tickets are for the programed itineraries of Minoan Lines, domestic and international, to the harbours, domestic or international, used by the company. Minoan Lines retain the right to reduce the number of free tickets at specific dates, or even not offer any free tickets at all, at other times, after having notified the members of the program.

5.1.4 The free tickets a customer may ask for, in exchange for points, are described in the Reward Table, a cashing points table. Minoan Lines may modify the cashing tables, valid at specific times, after an early notification.

5.1.5 After a present has been received and points been cashed in exchange for free tickets, the equivalent points are automatically deducted from a member’s account.

5.1.6 The booking and issuing of a free ticket can be made at least three (3) days before departure, based on availability.

5.1.7 The right to cash points and claim a free ticket belongs solely to members. Booking a free ticket can only be made by members. This claim cannot be transferred to a third person or a relative.

5.1.8 A free ticket can be issued for a third person or a relative, if a member wishing to cash points, has required so.

5.1.9 Members are not allowed to sell free tickets, under penalty of their exclusion from the program.

5.1.10 Cashing points by issuing free tickets is possible only in Minoan Lines Central & Port Agencies (in Port Agencies up to 3 hours before the vessel’s departure):

5.1.11 Cooperating travel agencies cannot cash points and issue free tickets.

5.1.12 In order to receive a ticket from the Minoan Lines booking offices, members have to show their Minoan Lines Bonus Club digital card as well as their I.D. card or passport.

5.1.13 Before receiving a free ticket, a member will first have to sign a proof of cashing and receiving points, or sign on the ticket itself.



5.2 Free Tickets



5.2.1 In case a member wishes to invalidate a free ticket that has already been issued, he/she will have to return it to one of the Minoan Lines Central or Port Agencies before the date of departure. Cooperating travel agencies cannot invalidate free tickets.

5.2.2 When a member asks for an already issued free ticket to be invalidated, all points that have been exchanged for it, will be returned to the member’s account.

5.2.3 In case a passenger does not travel (non show) and the ticket has not been invalidated before the day of the trip, then the free ticket is no longer valid and the member loses all the points that were cashed in order to get it.

5.2.4 Class upgrading is not considered as a way of cashing points.



5.2.5 Changes to dates, and/or names will be made to free tickets only by Minoan Lines Central & Port Agencies, as well as by calling +30 2810-399899. Collaborating agencies cannot make any change in the class-kind of a free ticket.

5.2.6 No changes or upgrade to the accommodation class (for the free tickets) are allowed, since points are redeemed. The Central Agencies of Minoan Lines, the vessels, port and cooperating agencies cannot make any change to the category of the free ticket.

5.2.7 In case a free ticket is lost or stolen, a member has to state it to a Central or Port Agency of Minoan Lines and fill-in the relevant Affirmation in Lieu so that the lost ticket is replaced.


6.1 General



6.1.1 It is within Minoan Lines discretion to modify the rules and regulations of the Minoan Lines Bonus Club

6.1.2 It is within Minoan Lines discretion to modify the rules that define the collection and cashing of points, as well as the privileges offered to a member for his/her participation to the Minoan Lines Bonus Club program, after an early notice.


6.2 Invalidation-Expiration


6.2.1 Minoan Lines can end the Minoan Lines Bonus Club program unilaterally, after a six-month warning. Within these six months, members can cash the points they have collected. After the end of this period, all rights of all members will be terminated and the points that are left in accounts without been cashed, will cease to exist.


6.2.2 In case the legal status of the company is altered, in case Minoan Lines are in any way dissolved, the Minoan Lines Bonus Club program will be automatically invalidated, as well as all accounts of all members. Points that may exist in those accounts will be invalidated, as well.


6.2.3 Members can end their participation to the program, in writing, at any time, without prior warning. After their participation has been terminated, points that may be in their account will cease to exist.


6.3 Responsibilities – Governing Law – Courts with the Appropriate Jurisdiction


6.3.1 Minoan Lines are not responsible for damages that may be caused from acts or omissions made by third persons that may be related to the Minoan Lines Bonus Club program, but are not Company underlings.


6.3.2 Under no circumstances will Minoan Lines be charged with damages caused to Members of the program or third persons, owed to inaccurate or false information given by members themselves, or due to non written notice on the part of members, regarding changes of their personal data.


6.3.3 The Rules and Regulations stated here, along with every difference that may emerge in relation to them, Minoan Lines in general and the Members of the Program, are governed by the Greek Law and will be settled by the Heraklion, Crete courts with the appropriate jurisdiction.


6.3.4 Communication – Complaints


6.3.4.1 For any demand or complaint concerning the program and its operation, a member will have to contact the Minoan Lines Bonus Club Department at +30 2810 399850 & 399856, during week days and hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30-16:30.


6.4 Protection of Personal Information


6.4.1 Minoan Lines wish to confirm that the personal information collected for the purposes of the Minoan Lines Bonus Club program are recorded in a safe data base, their personal character is secured and they are not transferred to any natural or legal entity, unless it is required by regulations of the law.


6.4.2 The personal information in question will be processed as a whole or partly, by Minoan Lines, specifically by the Marketing Department of the Company, for statistical and financial reasons, as well as for reasons related to the improvement of the Minoan Lines Bonus Club Program.


6.4.3 The program members are entitled to have access, be informed and object, as foreseen in the regulations of law 2472/1997, as is.


6.4.4 Minoan Lines retain the right to alter the above terms, always in the framework of the legislation in effect.


6.4.5 Applicants who do not agree with the present rules of the protection of personal information, ought not to proceed with their registration to the program in question, as otherwise, it is considered that they consent, according to law 2472/1997, to the use and processing of their personal information, for the purposes of the Minoan Lines Bonus Club Program.
