In the context of the corporate social responsibility program, Minoan Lines has implemented and supported for 20 years now the voluntary blood donation program, an act of culture, social sensitivity and generous offer.
This initiative was launched to strengthen the institution of voluntary blood donation that “saves lives” with more than 500 blood units having been collected over the past 20 years.
Like every year, this year a large number of employees rushed to give blood to strengthen the blood bank during the voluntary blood donation day that was successfully completed on Monday, December 11, 2017 at Minoan Lines’ Head Office in collaboration with the Blood Donation Mobile Unit of "VENIZELEIO” General Hospital of Heraklion, gathering 30 blood units.
The blood units, which are collected in the corporate blood bank, are available to meet any need that may arise for Minoan Lines’ employees, their family members and anyone who will request the company's contribution, which has essentially proven to be a life-saving action, by literally giving life to our fellow humans.
The management of Minoan Lines warmly thanks the medical staff of the "VENIZELEIO" General Hospital of Heraklion, which helped significantly in the successful organization of the blood donation day and the support of this initiative. But above all, the company’s administration wishes to thank the volunteer blood donors, Minoan Lines’ personnel on land and at sea, who once again proved in practice the strength of active volunteerism and solidarity towards the local community and society at large.
