Much lauded Paros is one of the biggest islands of the Cyclades and is renowned for its simplicity but also for the multitude of choices it offers to the visitor.

Bougainvilleas in bloom, eucalyptus trees, alleyways and white buildings, built with the famous Paros marble that was used to sculpt masterpieces like the Venus of Milos, the Victory of Delos and Praxiteles’ Hermes, are among the first things that one may see upon arriving to the island.

With its Venetian castle, also known as «Frangokastello», built in 1260 and with the most famous attraction of the island, the historical church of «Panagia Ekatontapyliani», Parikia, the port, is ideal for a morning or evening walk. At night the renowned fishing village of Naoussa «awakes», a place that used to be a pirates’ lair in the old times, and nowadays offers a wide variety of choices for food, drink and fun!

At the beautiful, picturesque, amphitheatrically built village of Lefkes you can enjoy your walk in a peaceful atmosphere. Here, the scenery changes and the Cycladic architecture «mingles» harmoniously with the neoclassical style buildings. At the southernmost part of the island is Alyki, a picturesque fishing village with a small harbour, calm beaches and quaint tavernas on the seafront.

The island’s beaches satisfy all kinds of visitors! You can dive in Kolymbithres, the golden-sand beach with the granite rocks, enjoy your swim at the organised beach of Santa Maria with its blue waters, or you can tame the waves surfing at Chryssi Akti. You can also sail across to Antiparos, the island that is famed for its calm beaches, such as Faneromeni, Agios Sostis and Fanari, but also for its busy nightlife.

As is well-known, swimming stimulates appetite and the traditional tavernas of Paros, the bakeries with their home-knead bread, and also the cosmopolitan restaurants will serve you regional delicacies, fish and local meat, that you can accompany with souma, Paros’ traditional alcoholic beverage.

All of the above are proof that Paros is a destination for everyone!
