Paros and Antiparos have a history dating back to the Archaic period. There are many findings that were discovered in archaeological excavations that have taken place on the two islands.

Upon visiting the Archaeological Museum of Paros, next to the High School of Parikia, you can admire the Victory of Paros, the marble statue of the Mermaid (Gorgo), Cycladic figurines, Classical and Roman period sarcophagi, and mosaics from Panagia Ekatontapyliani.

In the display cases of the museum you will also find the "Naked Lady of Saliagos", the oldest Cycladic figurine found on the neighbouring island bearing that name. This is the location of the oldest settlement that has been discovered in the Cyclades so far.
