Archaeological Museum of Thera

The Archaeological Museum of Thera is located in Fira, next to the funicular railway terminal.

If you are interested in the island’s history, the museum features exhibits originating from various historical time segments, like the Archaic, Roman, Geometric and Hellenistic period.

Those that stand out for their importance are the geometrically decorated theraean amphora, the great volcanic rock weighing about 480 kilos and several other findings discovered during excavations at the cemetery of ancient Thera.
