Oia is one of Santorini’s traditional settlements and perhaps one of the most photographed Greek landscapes. It is also considered as one of the most scenic landmarks in Greece, since it offers the most enjoyable view to the most beautiful sunset.

Going for a walk, your attention will be drawn to Oia’s particular architecture, the carved-in dwellings that look like caves and captains’ houses (aka “kapetanospita”), which underline the uniqueness of the area. Wherever you look, you will see coloured church domes popping out, as Oia hosts more than 60 churches.

Enjoy the magical scenery from the Venetian Castle, atop the settlement. Finally, in Oia, you can spend some leisure time having a coffee, savouring a delicious meal or shopping at local stores. Don’t forget to visit the picturesque cove of Ammoudi, just… 214 steps downhill.
